EVERY MOMENT COUNTS

Focus. Faith. Family. Fitness. Finances.

As a man who grew up in a tough area of Fort Lauderdale and went on to win two national championships and earn two master’s degrees. I now know I am called to be a servant of the lord in every capacity while currently serving as a college professor and PH.D student at Clemson University. I understand the true value of a good quality education. For this reason, I set out, alongside my family, to create a force for positive change in at-risk areas like where I was raised. Today, I present to you an opportunity to deliver opportunities to youth ages K5-12th grade in need of development through our six week comprehensive summer program that focuses on historical/cultural literacy, spiritual leadership, and basic life skills. The idea that leadership is something that comes from within resonates with every individual who has a role when it comes to shaping the culture of the team from a spiritual standpoint. Taking a close look at spirituality as the leadership theory for this program. Rogers and Dantley (2001, p. 591) note that: “Spirituality manifests in our search for wholeness, meaning, interconnectedness, and values.” (Manning, 2012). Soul refers to the invisible but understood processes that center the culture of an organization. Spirit comes from higher ideals that breathe life into an organization's values. It is at once a contemplative attitude, a disposition to a life of depth, and the search for ultimate meaning, direction and belonging. (Teasdale, 1999 as cited in Chickering, 2006, p. 2)
